Program:
Bringing Objects to Life
This program will be a hands-on exploration of object theater in a spirit of playful fun. We'll start with some warm-up exercises to tap our imaginations. Then we'll each choose an object from the assortment provided and create a character, giving it a name, movement, sound, and emotion. Next, our characters will interact with each other. Finally,we'll pair up, choose improvisation scenes, and pick objects with which to enact the scenes. People can share their scenes with the entire group if they so choose. No pressure!

NEW MEMBERS WELCOME! Meeting will include a Show and Tell, and “Where You At?” for people to tell what they’ve been up to lately. Bring your puppet projects in progress!
And there will be a light potluck supper — bring something to share. See you then!

Where great ideas are hatched!
Are you working on a project, but can't get to that important next step? Do you have a great idea for a puppet show, but just don't know where to begin? The Incubator is a casual group that meets at the Puppet Showplace, to foster and encourage the development of creative ideas of emerging artists, veteran puppeteers, teachers, and puppet enthusiasts in a casual, informal environment. PUPPET SLAM!

Next Slam - November 15th!
Puppet Slam is an evening of short, theatrical mini-plays for adults that use (or sometimes abuse) puppets for all or part of the drama. The performers range from the seasoned professional to the nascent puppeteer, and often include poets, musicians, dancers, mimes, actors, and other sundry affiliated artists. More info here.
